What Are Soul Ties?

Soul ties involve completely engaging your entire being with another person; a group of people, such as your church, family, coworkers, sorority, etc.; an event, such as a marriage, divorce, or a memory; or an ideology, such as a paradigm, perception, or a belief system. You can tie yourself to negative thought patterns, such as, “I can only get this far”; “I’m too fat, so I only can only obtain so much in life”; or “I only have so much education.” In other words, soul ties can be formed with anyone or anything you’ve given your mind, your will, and your emotions to. That’s what your soul is – your mind, will, and emotions.

Not all soul ties are bad, however. As the Holy Spirit revealed to me, “A good soul tie is a mutually beneficial connection that serves to uplift, encourage, and advance the will and purpose of God in your life.” So good soul ties are helpful connections that point to positive progression in your life, especially regarding God’s will and purpose for you…

Three Strands of an Ungodly Soul Tie

You may ask me, “How are all these ungodly soul ties developed?” Let’s go to II Samuel 13. This is where God began speaking to me about the ungodly soul ties in my life. He used the main character of this scripture passage, Tamar, to reveal to me some  powerful and enlightening things about ungodly soul ties and the devastating grip they can have on a person’s life.

In this particular passage, the Spirit revealed to me three strands that make up the ungodly soul tie. The number three is significant because Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”  God works in three’s: Father, Son, Holy Spirit; birth, death, resurrection. But for every divine kingdom model there’s also a satanic system that models itself in the same way, for the kingdom of darkness has it’s ungodly trinity: the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. So Satan works in three’s, too. This is why breaking an ungodly soul tie isn’t always easy because it’s also comprised of three strands…
